The autumn flush is the last flush before the bushes go into ‘hibernation’ for the winter. A typical characteristic of the autumn flush is a larger leaf and a robust cup. Extreme cold weather conditions during winter make these teas very flavory.

When the winter is about to set in and the temperature in high elevation peaks start testing zero degrees, the mature leaves can no longer bear the cold and the leaves start to wilt. These leaves cells undergo fermentation at a very slow rate and a rare flavour with heavy intensity is developed on its own. The production for such teas however is very limited.
