Darjeeling White tea is made by drying the selected buds. The minimal processing results in a light liquor with excellent flavour. Significant quantities of flavour is present in the buds when compared to the other parts of the leaf which is what sets up Silver Needles a class apart.
Since the processing is minimal the health benefits from it are found to be the highest. White tea is rich in *Catechins; Catechins are linked to evidence of fighting tumor as well as enhancing the immune system, due to their polyphenol antioxidant character. White tea is found to have the highest polyphenol content among all the different types of tea.
It takes almost 40 pluckers to pluck 1 Kg of White Tea which makes it very rare and unique.
