This is a unique and precious early second flush silver tips oolong tea from Rohini Tea Estate of Darjeeling. It is made with small leaves and buds from high-quality AV2 bushes, the most precious clones in the Darjeeling region. The leaves are freshly plucked in the first week of May. And the month of May is very interesting for low to mid-elevations in Darjeeling. Growth is prolonged and the weather is quite dry, with not too much rain. Suitable temperature and low humidity. It is a period of slow growth and coincides with the greenfly attack. It leads to stunted growth. The perfect condition for making oolongs but the window period for making this kind of tea is very short.
This tea is gently oxidized several times to ensure that all the exquisite flavours are prominently present. The dry leaves are greenish and brownish with lots of silvery tips which brew into yellow liquor and medium-bodied cups. This tea is very smooth and mouthful with an exceptionally sweet fruity aroma. It has a prominent fruity flavour with the notes of peach, grapes, and berries with the finish of honey. You can feel the lingering aftertaste which lasts for a very long time.
