$10.08 / 20 gms tin caddy
This exclusive first flush Bai Mudan white tea hails from Rohini Tea Estate, boasting a refreshing, light essence. It is made during spring from old bushes planted at high elevations of the estate. These plants emerge from a lengthy winter season lasting nearly four months, from December to March. During this period, the bushes sprout 100% growing shoots and exceptional buds, predominantly consisting of single or dual leaves accompanied by a bud. The flavours are prominent as the weather is very dry and cool which ensures very slow growth.
Only the best shoots and prominent buds are carefully plucked by the workers. The plucking is so delicate that the leaves can only be hand sorted and there are very few machines that can process such tea. The hand-plucked leaves are not rolled, which makes them very delicate. This rare first flush white tea does not undergo any natural or induced oxidation.
The tea brews into pale yellow liquor with a very fruity character and no grassiness, which is very unconventional for a typical white tea. Despite its light body, the flavour profile exhibits notable depth, offering a pleasant surprise to the palate. You can easily feel the complex and mineral-rich flavour with the hints of Indian Gooseberry, wild pear, and lime dance upon the senses. Smooth and devoid of harshness, bitterness, or astringency, this tea promises an unparalleled delight.
