Peppery Silver Tips – Bai Mudan White Tea is an extraordinary and exclusive Darjeeling white tea from Rohini Tea Estate, one of the youngest tea gardens in Darjeeling. It’s completely different from other Darjeeling white teas; cultivated from a rare and yet-to-be-classified wild clone known locally as Bhime, the true origin of this exceptional clone remains a mystery. This clone is only found in Rohini Tea Estate and we discovered from the highest elevations within our plantation when we acquired it.
This tea is crafted using a natural process, devoid of machinery; this tea undergoes sun-drying and delicate manufacturing methods instead of rolling and induced oxidation. These meticulous techniques ensure that this white tea maintains its smooth and creamy texture. The greenish black dry leaves are exhibiting an open appearance with lots of silver tips having a peppery fragrance. This tea brews into a delicate light yellow liquor cup which is very smooth to drink with the presence of a prominent peppery aroma. It presents the notes of bell pepper with the hints of Indian vanilla and wild flowers. The aftertaste is pleasant with zero astringency.
